The aim of this work is to introduce and study a new class of set as an extension of semi-open sets in topological spaces called the Sw-open set. We use this set to define new types of continuous functions and new types of topological spaces.It is proved that every Sw-open set is dense and both the families SwO(X) and SO(X) coincide whenever the space X is hyperconnected. The topological spaces (X, ?) and (X, ??) have the same family of Sw-open sets.The concept of Sw-compactness is introduced and we prove that a space X is Sw-compact if and only if for every somewhat preopen cover of a space X there is a finite subcover under the condition that X is strongly irresolvable.Separation axioms are defined and characterized and it is proved that the space X is Sw-T2 whenever each point of X possesses an Sw-regular subset which is an Sw-T2 subspace in X.

The purpose of the present work is to introduce and investigate a new class of sets called (i, j)-Ps– open sets, and use this class to define and study new concepts in bitopological spaces such as continuity and separation axioms. At the beginning of this work, we define the class of (i, j)-Ps– open sets which contained in the class of j-preopen sets and also contained in the class of (i, j)-gp– open sets. It is shown that the family of (i, j)-Ps– open sets form a supratopology on X. We prove that the family of (i, j)-Ps– open sets and the family of j-preopen sets are identical when (X, ?i) are semi-T1-spaces. Finally, some separation axioms such as T0, T1 and T2 spaces are defined in bitopological spaces, also R0, R1 and Urysohn spaces are defined and the relation between them are found by using the new type of graph functions called (i, j)-Ps – closed graph. It is noticed that if (X, ?1, ?2) is (i, j)-Ps–Tk, then it is (i, j)-Ps–Tk-1, for k=1, 2. It is proved that a bitopological space (X, ?1, ?2) is (i, j)-Ps–T1 if the (i, j)-Ps– derived set of every point of X is empty.

In this book, we develop two frameworks to tackle the task of semi-structured Web data record extraction. We first present a record segmentation search tree framework in which a new search structure, named Record Segmentation Tree (RST), is designed and several efficient search pruning strategies on the RST structure are proposed to identify the records in a given Web page. We also present another DOM Structure Knowledge Oriented Global Analysis (Skoga) framework which can perform robust detection of different kinds of data records and record regions. Skoga can conduct a global analysis on the DOM structure to achieve effective detection. Finally, we present a framework that can make use of the detected data records to automatically populate existing Wikipedia categories. This framework takes a few existing entities that are automatically collected from a particular Wikipedia category as seed input and explores their attribute infoboxes to obtain clues for the discovery of more entities for this category and the attribute content of the newly discovered entities.

This book proposes a feature-based design approach for three dimensional block structured components with generalized orthohedral geometry. The component is viewed as a collection of blocks connected by topological links. The geometry and topology are explicitly de?ned. The geometry of the feature consists of an external shape and an internal shape, while the topology is modeled using a graph. The basic external shape of each block in a component is a rectangular parallelopiped which ?xes overall size and location of the block. Using the idea of encapsulation, families of blocks with di?erent internal shapes can be developed; all these internal shapes are assumed to be encapsulated in a block with rectangular external shape. The simple nature of the external shapes makes it easier to de?ne operations like create, addition/deletion of blocks, topological connectivity speci?cations, etc. The internal shape provides the necessary information for geometry speci?c operations such as display, volume computation, etc. Dimensioning and tolerancing support is provided using a graph representation.

The main focus of this study is the interplay between topology and order in frustrated quantum spin systems. We identify relevant effects in the study of novel phases of matter, as they emerge in tractable quantum spin models and we make a number of original contributions. In particular, we study quantum dimer models with frustrating interactions and holes, identifying possible phases of matter and the nature of the phase transitions between them. Further, we identify a possible mechanism of how incommensurate ordering can emerge in strongly correlated systems and show explicitly how it works in toy models of quantum frustration, such as quantum dimer models. We characterize the topological character of frustrated spin systems by studying the quantum entanglement entropy of different topological phases in exactly solvable quantum spin models; we show explicitly how a finite correlation length affects different topological observables. Finally, we use our understanding of frustration in spin systems to study the phenomenological nature of the Mott insulator to metal transition at finite temperatures and we demonstrate that it generally belongs to the Ising universality class.

The WSN monitoring system is a promising technique to detect the damage of the structural health. In order to cover the entire damage region, sensor network topology is the key characteristic of sensor network. The loss of ZigBee based sensor network topology is investigated and efficient queueing method is obtained based on CBR (Constant Bit Rate) traffic and DT (Drop Tail), SFQ (Stochastic Fair Queueing) and RED (Random Early Discard) queuing mechanism using NS-2 (Network Simulator-2). After modelling ZigBee based sensor network topology, the output and queue loss of sensor network topology are computed based on different TCP mechanism in order to find out the optimal TCP method for monitoring the network.

This book focus on the fat-tree topology, which is one of the most-commonly used topologies for clusters. Our aim is to exploit its characteristics to provide fault-tolerance; and a load-balanced routing algorithm that provides a good cost/performance tradeoff. First, we focus on the fault-tolerance of the fat-tree topology. Most of the works in the literature provide fault-tolerance at the cost of adding resources to the network, either switches, links or virtual channels. On the contrary to these works, we provide the same degree of fault-tolerance without increasing the resources of the network by taking advantage of the abundant plurality of equivalent paths in the fat-tree. Next, we take the challenge of designing a deterministic routing algorithm that can compete in terms of performance with the adaptive routing algorithms that are used for the fat-tree topology. Finally, we take advantage of the particular characteristics of the proposed deterministic routing algorithm to simplify the fat-tree topology.

The notion of multiset relations and multiset functions are introduced and the concepts in general topology on classical sets are extended to topology on multisets.
