The purpose of the present work is to introduce and investigate a new class of sets called (i, j)-Ps– open sets, and use this class to define and study new concepts in bitopological spaces such as continuity and separation axioms. At the beginning of this work, we define the class of (i, j)-Ps– open sets which contained in the class of j-preopen sets and also contained in the class of (i, j)-gp– open sets. It is shown that the family of (i, j)-Ps– open sets form a supratopology on X. We prove that the family of (i, j)-Ps– open sets and the family of j-preopen sets are identical when (X, ?i) are semi-T1-spaces. Finally, some separation axioms such as T0, T1 and T2 spaces are defined in bitopological spaces, also R0, R1 and Urysohn spaces are defined and the relation between them are found by using the new type of graph functions called (i, j)-Ps – closed graph. It is noticed that if (X, ?1, ?2) is (i, j)-Ps–Tk, then it is (i, j)-Ps–Tk-1, for k=1, 2. It is proved that a bitopological space (X, ?1, ?2) is (i, j)-Ps–T1 if the (i, j)-Ps– derived set of every point of X is empty.

The aim of this work is to introduce and study a new class of set as an extension of semi-open sets in topological spaces called the Sw-open set. We use this set to define new types of continuous functions and new types of topological spaces.It is proved that every Sw-open set is dense and both the families SwO(X) and SO(X) coincide whenever the space X is hyperconnected. The topological spaces (X, ?) and (X, ??) have the same family of Sw-open sets.The concept of Sw-compactness is introduced and we prove that a space X is Sw-compact if and only if for every somewhat preopen cover of a space X there is a finite subcover under the condition that X is strongly irresolvable.Separation axioms are defined and characterized and it is proved that the space X is Sw-T2 whenever each point of X possesses an Sw-regular subset which is an Sw-T2 subspace in X.

The possibility of using quantum sets in quantum mechanics was considered long ago. In this book we consider fractal Cantorian sets and emphasize the role of the empty set in physics and the crucial difference between the zero and the empty set. Multiset is a collection of objects in which the elements are allowed to repeat. The notion of multiset relations and multiset functions are introduced and the concepts in general topology on classical sets are extended to topology on multisets. Partially ordered multisets and their chains and antichains are introduced and the decomposition theorem for partially ordered multisets is obtained. Moreover multiset topologies are generated using multiset relations and to obtain a quasi-discrete multiset topology from a symmetric multiset relation instead of an equivalence multiset relation. In this work, I have reviewed existing prediction methods for the mobility of nodes and proposed three new schemes to predict the future set of topology of the mobile network. The proposed schemes are simple, efficient, and applicable to many existing algorithms. I evaluate the presented schemes on simulated and real data obtained from the Databases and Mobile Computing Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The results show that the schemes successfully predict the future topology of the dynamic networks with high accuracy. They also minimize the frequency of route and location updates and any associated delays. The implementation of the proposed schemes on the upper layers makes them applicable to various routing algorithms including topology based routing algorithms and geographical routing algorithms, giving them the advantage of platform independence

This book focus on the fat-tree topology, which is one of the most-commonly used topologies for clusters. Our aim is to exploit its characteristics to provide fault-tolerance; and a load-balanced routing algorithm that provides a good cost/performance tradeoff. First, we focus on the fault-tolerance of the fat-tree topology. Most of the works in the literature provide fault-tolerance at the cost of adding resources to the network, either switches, links or virtual channels. On the contrary to these works, we provide the same degree of fault-tolerance without increasing the resources of the network by taking advantage of the abundant plurality of equivalent paths in the fat-tree. Next, we take the challenge of designing a deterministic routing algorithm that can compete in terms of performance with the adaptive routing algorithms that are used for the fat-tree topology. Finally, we take advantage of the particular characteristics of the proposed deterministic routing algorithm to simplify the fat-tree topology.

The WSN monitoring system is a promising technique to detect the damage of the structural health. There are many established methods have been used for computing or visualizing the building structural damage. Technical challenges affecting deployment of wireless sensor network including the range of coverage area, lifetime qualities of data, real time response, interference, reflection and optimization. The goal of this research is to develop new prototype using proposed new module and tested under real time environment for computing vibration and tilt of the building. In order to cover the entire damage region, sensor network topology is the key characteristic of sensor network. The loss of ZigBee based sensor network topology is investigated and efficient queueing method is obtained based on CBR (Constant Bit Rate) traffic and DT (Drop Tail), SFQ (Stochastic Fair Queueing) and RED (Random Early Discard) queuing mechanism using NS-2 (Network Simulator-2). After modelling ZigBee based sensor network topology, the output and queue loss of sensor network topology are computed based on different TCP mechanism in order to find out the optimal TCP method for monitoring the network.

There are still a lot of open questions in the field of MANETs and sensor networks. If a topology incurs a large interference, either many communication signals sent by nodes will collide, or the network may experience a serious delay at delivering the data for some nodes, and even consume more energy. So, we reach to the conclusion that interference imposes a potential negative impact on the performance of wireless networks. Researchers actively explored topology control (TC) approaches for such networks. The motivation of TC is to maintain the connectivity of the network, reduce the node degree and thereby reduce the interference, and reduce power consumption in the sensor nodes. To improve the network performance, designing TC algorithms with consideration of interference is imminent and necessary. Since, it leads to fewer collisions and packet retransmissions, which indirectly reduces the power consumption and extends the lifetime of the network. In this thesis, we propose a new interference-aware connected dominating set-based topology construction algorithm, namely, IACDS, a simple, distributed, interference-aware and energy-efficient TC mechanism.
