A number of experimental methods had been developed till date to evaluate and study the periodic properties. To study these periodic properties theoretically we have developed a new linear approach. A mathematical periodic function has been developed to calculate atomic radii (covalent and vander Waal) of any element by knowing just its atomic number. This function consists of a common equation along with additional terms (correction factor) for different blocks (s, p, d and f) of periodic table. This function has been derived mathematically by relating different factors in form of correction factors which affect the atomic radii using graphs. Spatial Modulation of One-Dimensional Periodic Structures

Periodic structures have renewed applications in microwave engineering, especially with the advent of unusual artificial materials such as EBG structures and metamaterials. In this work, it is shown that spatial modulation of periodic structures provides a multiband behavior that depends on the amplitude or position modulation function. The number of stop bands, band-widths, center frequencies depends on the modulation function and type. The effect of the modulation function selection, as well as the effect of increasing the number of modulated loads within the period on the band diagram in both Load Amplitude Modulation and Load Position Modulation cases is studied. The concept of spatial modulation is applied to Left Hand-Right Hand rectangular waveguides with dielectric filled corrugations, and is proved to create new LH bands. Also, applications to microwave filter design by selecting the suitable terminating impedance based on the Bloch impedance calculations, to provide better filtering response, is discussed. The concept of periodic spatial modulation is a step towards the optimal design of the unit cell to engineer the band diagram of the periodic structure.

Periodic orbits around L4 in the Restricted three body problem have been determined where the primaries are axes symmetric bodies and source of radiation pressure. Throughout the studies, a constant U has been introduced in the Lagrangian in such a way that the energy constant (h) vanishes at L4. A mobile coordinate system is used to determine the periodic orbits by giving displacement to these coordinates along the normal and the tangent. An algorithm is constructed in two stages, to draw the periodic orbits. These are: first predictor-part and then corrector-part. In each chapter, five families of periodic orbits have been drawn. And in each family, five figures corresponding to the different values of h are drawn. These orbits have been numbered 1,2,3,4 and 5 corresponding to values of h mentioned in each figure on the left hand top of each figure in each chapter. It is observed that the final orbit passing through the libration point L4, in each case, is non-symmetrical and therefore, the family can be further continued. This book is extremely useful to post graduate students, research scholars, scientists who are interested in the Restricted three body problem.

This quest traditionally has been reserved for an elite group of thinkers, since at least the time of Aristotle, who was considered as the undisputed authority on philosophical truth, including that which we call science. The Scientific Revolution challenged Aristotle's authority and paved the way for the new method of evaluating scientific truths developed by Bacon, Descartes, and Galileo. Science became, over time, a process of inquiry open to all social and economic classes and accessible to all. In the twentieth century, the role of science again became hidden from or remote to public view, either because of innate complexity or the necessity of wartime secrecy. One forum on which science has been made available to the public is the stage. A few playwrights of the twentieth century have used science in their works. But more often than not, they primarily wrote about the lives of scientists with only the illusion that the plays are about science. Very few have been able to capture the essence of science and present it to the public in an understanding manner so that its complexities are no longer an illusion. The book was produced in celebration of the work of the late Rosalind Driver. When replayed at normal rate, time appears to be moving faster and thus time lapsing. Time lapse technique is a very powerful technique to document slowly changing/developing/moving phenomenon. Time lapse technique can be classified as periodic and non periodic time lapse video. For natural movements like sunrise, blooming of flowers the periodic time lapse technique is used, while for uncertain activities like human activity, bird flying, animal movement non periodic time lapse technique is used. One of the classifications of non periodic time lapse video is differential time lapse video. As its name suggest in this technique the frames are selected on the basis of amount of difference in between them. To find out the difference in between the successive frames mainly one of the three algorithms can be used, these algorithms are Pixel to pixel bit mapping, Edge detection and Motion detection. The quality of differential time lapse video depends on the algorithm which is used for the frame selection criterion.

The book is devoted to the approximation and periodic representation of algebraic numbers, like quadratic and cubic irrationalities. Continued fractions surely provide rational approximations and periodic representation for quadratic irrationals. Here, new kinds of representation for square roots are exploited with the aid of linear recurrent sequences. A beautiful connection with the solution of the Pell equation is highlighted, finding an original way to solve it through a group structure over the Pell hyperbola. Moreover, similar results are obtained and illustrated for cubic irrationals, approaching the Hermite problem, i.e., the problem of finding a way to write algebraic numbers (irrational numbers that are solution of some algebraic equation with rational coefficients) as a periodic sequence of integers.
